RIEDEL LAUNCHES NEW GRAPE VARIETAL-SPECIFIC WINE GLASSES
Ahead of Mother’s Day, Riedel’s has launched their beautiful new 2018 collection, Fatto a Mano Pink. Fatto a Mano (meaning ‘handmade’ in Italian) is Riedel’s stunning new range of grape varietal-specific crystal wine glasses, with colourful stems and bases, handmade in Austria. Each bowl shape is designed for a specific grape, from Pinot Noir through to Oaked Chardonnay. New for 2018, they are introducing a pink version – creating a vibrant way to inject some elegance and femininity to the dinner table spread, while enhancing the taste of the wine you’ve chosen.
"The finest glasses for both technical and hedonistic purposes are those made by Riedel. The effect of these glasses on fine wine is profound. I cannot emphasise enough what a difference they make." - Robert M. Parker, Jr. The Wine Advocate
Claus Riedel was the first person in the long history of the glass to design its shape according to the character of the wine and is thus the inventor of the functional wine glass. Make a journey through this wonderful world of glasses and senses.
The Riedel trademark dates from the Art Nouveau period at the end of the nineteenth century, and was used for Riedel glassware made in Bohemia from 1890 to 1925. In 1996, to commemorate Riedel’s 240th anniversary, the brand reintroduced this trademark for all of their mouth-blown, hand-made products.
