PARISIAN HOME INSPIRATION BY 10SURDIX & ESSENTIAL HOME
Paris is always a good idea...and today's inspiration is brought to you from Essential Home's latest project in the French capital!
In the words of Audrey Hepburn, "Paris is always a good idea." Essential Home are a little bit obsessed with that Parisian Je ne sais quoi, particularly following Maison & Objet (world-renowned professional trade fair dedicated to lifestyle, decoration and design). So, from all that passion and inspiration, 'Somewhere in Clichy' (in the 9th arrondissement of Paris), materialised. It is a stunning location that was the subject of a home makeover by interior design studio 10surdix.
This French team created an inspiring modern home filled with industrial accents and a mid-century sideboard that you won't ever forget. In the centre of this French movie-esque scene, there is an English star, as big as James Bond itself – the Monocles Side Board. This show-stopping sideboard makes all the difference to the room. With dark walnut and gold-plated brass finishes, this mid-century piece can light up a room all by itself. I witnessed this showstopping piece in person at Covet House in Fulham...it really is something special - the perfect place to store your prized martini ingredients...
Circles are engraved on the back and side of the unit, giving it a strong personality and high end look alongside the dramatically tapered legs. It is a perfect piece of furniture for retro lovers or mid-century admirers with a penchant for cocktail experimentation.
The open plan living room is very characteristic of industrial interiors. The more modern and slightly bohemian look was achieved not only by Essential Home's Monocles sideboard but also by DelightFull’s minimalist 'Clark' suspension chandelier.
The oversized mirror simply placed against the wall gives the space a relaxed vibe, making the room appear much larger. The concrete wall behind the television was given a special dark and romantic touch with the beautiful hand painted flowers at the top.
