POP-UP CRISIS RETURNS TO SAVILE ROW, RAISING VITAL FUNDS FOR CRISIS
December 2023
Arriving on Savile Row for the fourth year running, Pop-Up Crisis opens its doors this week, from December 4th – 14th, revealing plenty of unique, designer one-off pieces. The event aims to raise vital funds for Crisis, the national charity for people experiencing homelessness across Great Britain.
Nearly a quarter of a million households across England are now experiencing the worst forms of homelessness. Crisis works with thousands of people experiencing homelessness every year, providing education, training and support with housing, employment and health and wellbeing. All proceeds raised from Pop-Up Crisis will go towards Crisis’ work in helping people discover a life beyond homelessness.
Founding members, Anda Rowland of iconic Savile Row tailors, Anderson and Sheppard and renowned British fashion editor Tom Stubbs, supported by Crisis head of retail, Georgina Evans curate a jam-packed product offering of brand-new designer wares, past-season stock, imperfect pieces and seasonal sample collections from luxury brands, generously donated in past seasons by supporters including; Vivienne Westwood, Wales Bonner, Pringle of Scotland, Richard James, Stephen Jones Millinary, Tods, Vince, Hackett, Giles Deacon, Gabriela Hearst, Grenson, Bianca Saunders, Anderson Sheppard, Burberry, Christopher Kane, Jimmy Choo and Erdem.
Pop-Up Crisis will be hosted by developer Henigman at the decommissioned West End Central police station at 27 Savile Row. Visitors can expect Christmas events including ‘shop their wardrobe’, an exclusive vignette of hand-picked items personally donated from celebrity friends of Crisis, including Kate Moss, Stormzy, David Gandy and Aisling Bea; wreath-making workshops with social enterprise, The Glasshouse, offering second chances through horticultural training to women based in UK prisons; and late night shopping evening with drinks and music by DJ Jonjo Jury, culminating in the annual raffle.
“Following the success of last year, we are delighted to be once again partnering with charity Crisis through hosting the Christmas Crisis PopUp at the former West End Central Police Station at 27 Savile Row. Last year’s pop-up raised an incredible £110k and the hope is that this year we will exceed this figure,” commented Dean Main, CEO of Henigman Limited.
Jenny Casebourne, Head of Portfolio of The Pollen Estate said: “The Pollen Estate is a proud supporter of Crisis and their vital work to help people experiencing homelessness. We are delighted that the sartorial charity pop-up experience is returning once again to Savile Row, London’s iconic destination renowned for bespoke tailoring. Many of the Savile Row tailors and other local brands are donating to this important cause and we are proud of our vibrant local community that is contributing to wider society supporting Crisis’ work in ending homelessness for good.”
