NEW OPENING: VISIT MAROTO FOR LATE NIGHT DRINKING, SMALL PLATES & DJS
August 2023
Maroto is a new underground lounge and bar located on the cusp of Marylebone and Mayfair and the sister venue to the recently opened Brazilian restaurant, Bossa. Globally-renowned chef, Alberto Landgraf, stands at the helm of Maroto, a late-night dining and drinking spot open every Thursday evening until 3am, and 5am on Friday and Saturday nights.
Combining opulent art deco style with an authentic Brazilian flair and a bohemian ambience; Maroto features striking patterned wallpaper, luxurious carpets and marble bar tables where guests can dine, drink and dance until the early hours. Plush sofas invite you to enjoy a cocktail or two, perhaps ‘Basilao’, with Zeca de Mato Cachaça, apple, egg white, basil, lime and orange; or ‘Oba Oba’, with Fernet Branca, JW Black Label, Ketel One, Mezcal Amores Espadin, Cointreau, Coke and lemon.
Visit the bar for small bites such as Pão de Queijo (Brazil’s popular cheese dough made with manioc starch, served with a chilli mayo) and a Bossa signature dish, pan-fried scallops with Tucupi sauce from the Amazon, fermented for seven days.
Shane Mac, Maroto’s Musical Director, has worked with industry greats from Calvin Harris to Beyoncé, and has curated an exciting lineup of DJs for Maroto with DOC Records Brazil, including performances by Vintage Culture Mochakk, Gui Boratto and Coppola to ensure every guest experiences a musical odyssey.
