Christie’s are proud to present The Art of Literature, part of London Now, an exhibition showcasing artistic masterpieces inspired by literature. Highlights include Magdalena (Venus) by Marlene Dumas, 1995; a French Aesop’s Fables manuscript dating from c.1495; and John William Waterhouse’s Tristram and Isolde (painted at the height WW2).
Svetlana Cameron is a contemporary British realist painter specializing in classical portraiture. Trained in Italy in the methods of Old Masters, Cameron is dedicated to the modern interpretation of the Renaissance painting techniques.
