THE DORCHESTER TO UNVEIL BRAND NEW RENOVATIONS IN SEPTEMBER 2022
In a new chapter for The Dorchester, brand new renovations are currently taking place in collaboration with Pierre-Yves Rochon and Martin Brudnizki Design. Pierre-Yves Rochon is redesigning the hotel entrance, The Promenade, new Cake & Flowers boutique, and the guest rooms and suites; whilst Mayfair regular, Martin Brudnizki Design, will redesign the hotel bar.
The Lobby
The hotel’s well known façade has been a prominent part of Park Lane and beyond for nine decades. We can expect to see new lighting that will create a welcoming glow, an enhanced forecourt with green granite underfoot and a landscaped, luscious garden area. An open lobby will be flooded with natural light, boasting two imposing artworks.
The Promenade
A glamorous new destination will be unveiled towards the end of The Promenade - The Promenade Bar, a decadent destination for fun and frivolous evenings with Champagne, seafood and entertainment. An original collection of contemporary artworks by British artists will be also revealed throughout The Promenade, featuring British landscapes.
The Bar
Martin Brudnizki is redesigning the hotel’s cocktail bar, and we know it will be nothing short of spectacular. The new interior is inspired by “the spirit and elegance of the roaring thirties” - there will be a snug, a 1930s Palladium leaf ceiling and original works by Cecil Beaton. The bar can be accessed via a new Park Lane entrance and an outside terrace can be enjoyed, with views towards Hyde Park.
Cake & Flowers
With its very own entrance on the Deanery Street corner of the hotel, the new Cake & Flowers boutique will showcase the in-house designer florist, Philip Hammond, and executive pastry chef, Michael Kwan. Expect signature pastries and cakes, artisan chocolates, gift hampers, floral bouquets and Champagne.
New Suites
Pierre-Yves Rochon’s new signature and junior suites will be light, fresh and thoughtfully composed, inspired by the colours of an English garden - pale leaf green and rose fog pink, heather blue and lemon yellow. Spacious accommodation will be presented in a residential style, offering a truly opulent home-from-home.
The Dorchester’s latest instalments will be revealed in early September 2022. In the meantime, do visit for afternoon tea in the Orchid Room, Mediterranean delights on The Dorchester Rooftop, and meals at The Grill, Alain Ducasse and China Tang…
