THE CONNAUGHT PATISSERIE & CLARIDGE'S ARTSPACE CAFÉ PRESENT 'GÂTEAU DES AMIS'

There is a delectable new Mayfair treat to try, named ‘Gâteau des Amis,’ an exclusive, limited-edition cake created in celebration of a special friendship between two renowned names in Mayfair: Nicolas Rouzaud, Pastry Chef at The Connaught Patisserie, and Thibault Hauchard, Executive Pastry Chef at Claridge’s. The cake will be available for purchase until Sunday, March 9th, at both Claridge’s and The Connaught.
In celebration of the two Mayfair institutions, this two-part cake offers an interactive tasting experience. The cake features a white chocolate half with Tahitian vanilla milk jam, mousse, and praline on a crunchy base, created by Hauchard to reflect Claridge’s ArtSpace Café. The other half showcases a bold milk chocolate blend with pecan nut praline, dark chocolate sponge, and roasted pecans, crafted by Rouzaud for The Connaught Patisserie.
Nicolas Rouzaud comments, “It has been an incredible experience creating the Gâteau des Amis with Thibault. We worked closely together to create a cake that truly reflects both of our creative approaches and techniques. Since Thibault joined Claridge’s three years ago, our friendship has grown through shared experiences, collaborations, and a deep mutual respect. We’ve had the chance to work on several events together, strengthening our bond along the way. This cake is not just a dessert — it’s a tribute to our friendship and the passion we share for pastry.”
Thibault Hauchard added, “Nicolas and I share a bond through a mutual love of all things patisserie and have shared many fun and exciting experiences together over the last three years. To create “Gâteau des Amis” was a celebration of our friendship and a way how to show our creativity, skills, and a more playful side to our craft!”
Gâteau des Amis is priced at £29.00 and is available to purchase from both The Connaught Patisserie by Nicolas Rouzaud and Claridge’s ArtSpace Café until Sunday 9th March.
