Bedroom at Gleneagles Townhouse
Gleneagles Townhouse by Gleneagles Hotel will officially open its doors from Monday 6th June 2022. This exciting new 33-bedroom hotel, members’ club and all-day restaurant, will be based at 39 St Andrew Square, Edinburgh - and we can’t wait to visit. In true Gleneagles style, guests can expect brilliant drinking and dining experiences and glorious accommodation, plus a lively members’ club with a cultural events programme.
Lamplighters Bar, Gleneagles Townhouse
The Townhouse is a listed building, originally home to the British Linen Company before later becoming the Bank of Scotland. Ennismore Design Studio has restored the building to create 33 unique rooms and suites, some have views of St Andrew Square. The Spence (from the old Scots word for Scotland’s natural larder) lies at the heart of the Townhouse, a modern style brasserie led by Head Chef Jonny Wright. The Spence will initially be open exclusively to members and hotel resident guests before the wider public can visit in early summer.

Signature dishes at The Spence will include Wild Mushroom Tart with Goats Curd and Hazelnuts, Whole Roasted Turbot with Fennel & Chilli and Scotch Baba with Praline Sauce and Mascarpone for two to share. Fancy a drink? Head to the central bar underneath the glass-domed ceiling for cocktails, local whiskies, beers, spirits, and wine curated by bar manager, Stefanie Anderson.
The Members Lounge at Gleneagles Townhouse
A calming space has been created in the bank’s former vault, where Townhouse resident guests and members will be able to access training, treatments and therapies - cryotherapy, an infrared sauna, a gym and wellness studios await. The Members’ Lounge and Members’ Snug is comprised of two exclusive spaces perfect for meetings, breakfast, brunch and lunch, complete with a pantry.
Wellness at Gleneagles Townhouse
Evenings can be lively and social or more cosy and relaxed with intimate wine tastings, depending on what you’re looking for. A roof terrace bar called Lamplighters will open exclusively to members, with views of the Old Town to the left and New Town to the right.
